Rebelution has done a very respectable job of gaining major notoriety
for an independent band since meeting at college in Santa Barbara, CA
three years ago. Performing free shows in the streets of Isla Vista
and setting up their stage and lights themselves early in their career
evidently paid off, as this band has developed a loyal fan base
sizable of many major acts touring the country, yet they have only
played a handful of shows outside their home state of California. That
will all change when they hit the road with The Expendables for a 7
week tour of the United States, a couple weeks after their much
anticipated return for 6 shows in Hawaii and first show in Guam in
August, due tomassive radio play on the islands.
The four piece Reggae band is made up of Eric Rachmany
(Guitar,Vocals), Marley D. Wiliams (Bass), Rory Carey (Keys) and
WesleyFinley(Drums). Their touring achievements thus far include sold
outshows at The Fillmore, The Roxy, Canes and Neumos (Seattle) as well
as playing the Santa Barbara Bowl with The Offspring and Pennywise for
the KJEE Summer RoundUp and a performance at the Raggamuffins Tribute
to Bob Marley Festival at the Bill Graham Civic Center in San
Francisco and the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival. They will
alsoperform at Reggae Rising 2008 and all dates of the 2009 annual
Raggamuffins Bob Marley Tribute Concerts.
Their debut album "Courage To Grow" has achieved the iTunes Editors
Choice for Best Reggae Album of 2007, peaked at # 2 on the iTunes
Reggae Sales Charts while debuting at #10 and reaching #7 a year later
on the Billboard Reggae Album Charts. Their single "Safe andSound" has
also been featured as a free download of the week on iTunes and is
currently in rotation on the Bay Area's Live 105 and 91X in SanDiego.
